Out of a sorta desparate need for a case for my new Nook eBook reader, I decided to make my own case. The only place to get a nook case now is bn.com but I need something for my flight back to Nebraska, to keep it safe and clean. My brother, mother, and I went to the local fabric store, got some supplies and started on it. She gave me a crash course in sewing and I was off. This is what we made yesterday. While the nook case was a join effort, the iPhone case is all me.
We used a pair of old Levi’s 501 jeans. The iPhone case is made from the inside of one of the pockets and the patch from the belt-line. For the iPhone case, the cool design on the inside of the pocket is what intrigued me and got me to use it. The nook case uses the denim from one of the legs, combined with an old product (RED) tag I kept from a while ago. The insides of both are lined with white felt, and the Nook cover had a thin layer of foam in between for extra protection.
I’m really happy with the results. I’m catching on pretty quick. I went today and got some burlap to make some more. I may be able to make this into merchandise to sell at conventions. We shall see..
Give me your feedback, what do you think? would you pay money for these?
